In these first four Holy Nights, we are looking at the moments when the other shines into our souls as Thou. Something divine and individual crystalizes in them and they illuminate our way to wholeness in our feeling of I Am.

Thou as healer brings health to our wholeness. Through their presence in our lives we heal our imbalances, we come to feel quite beautiful, graceful, sublime, and integral. A part that had been missing appears. A part that had been dysfunctional, becomes harmonious.  A part that had been foggy, clears. A part that had been pretending, becomes real.

Perhaps you asked this individual to engage in a healing and slowly unfolding process  or perhaps you experienced the briefest of encounters. Perhaps there have been many conversations or a few words were transformative.

Perhaps there was a very early experience that does not have a memory that can be described, it is just a felt sense of healing presence.  Today I visited with my 95 year old aunt who has little feeling for her own value and wholeness. She was sharing stories of her childhood that were grim with lack of love and left her feeling unworthy and stupid.  But she became a great healer.  Beginning in her thirties, she began to foster newborns who were waiting for adoption. The reverence and devotion she brought to over 300 infants over 40 years lives unremembered but deeply felt by each of them. Between the traumatic loss of their birth mothers and the embracing by their adoptive mothers, they were loved unconditionally, their needs were met, they knew unselfish caring. I can only imagine that each of these individuals feels whole in their hearts in some mysterious way.

Even if you cannot name and articulate the experience of a Thou, you may feel it deeply.

Or here is a clear adult experience from my own life. At 64, I connected with a woman whose creative Thou brings to me a wholeness in regard to my relationship to money and financial responsibility that had been a continual suffering in my soul. Because of her Thou, I have healed into a clearer, warmer, more empowered feeling around my financial life. It is still scary for me, but the healing that came from her powerful Thou living in the reality of finances is truly a healing in my feeling life and it reverberates in my thinking and my willing as they interact in the financial tending that is needed in a grounded material life.
