With enough devoted attention, active healing and radical lessons we evolve to the point where we become something so new, so different that we are born out of one sense of self into another. We experience Inner Nativity and selfbirth.
During the Holy Nights we see three umbilical cords remain in tact and attached between the newly incarnated self and the maternal I-beyond consciousness. One flows with truth into our thinking. Another flows with beautiful harmonies into our feeling. The third flows with goodness into our will.
One liberates our thinking. One heals our feelings. One empowers our will.
Perhaps you feel you are not new that you are still the same thoughts, feelings, intentions and behaviors. Perhaps you feel that you have no way to conceive or birth a new I-filled self.
In the quiet of the Holy Nights gently challenge that perception. Inner Nativity can be so very subtle and so a-c-h-i-n-g-l-y slow, but it is happening. Remember the maternal I-beyond-consciousness is fiercely patient.
Selfbirth occurs every time you have an original thought that rings true or a unique feeling that is in harmony with the universe. And when you manifest a deed filled with selfless goodness that only you could manifest, the heavens sing and stars brighten. It's a new birth.
Some more thoughts to help you with Inner Nativity
The hardest thing to do is to let go of the old pictures of self. Without letting go of the old sense of self, we cannot hear the angels sing or see the star that tells us our new self is born.

Who are the friends who comfort you when you are birthing your self? The soul doulas?

The birth in the manger-- the no room at the inn story is so very important for us in awakening to our own Inner Nativity or the Earthly Birth of our own Divine -I. When we think about birthing our own I we struggle with feeling worthless and feeling exalted. In truth, we are neither.
This is why the archetypal model for the birthing of a god made flesh is never in a palace and never seeks a palace. Even Buddha gives birth to his I far from the exalted place of his physical birth.
The place of our Inner Nativity is humble, natural, and pure, yet the hearts of the shepherds and the heads of the magi find it guided by cosmic sound and light. With Inner Nativity in the manger of your soul, the selfborn self sings into the world, shines light on all.
Blessings on your birth!
