2013 1st Holy Night: Encountering the Thou as Womb
Published: Wed, 12/25/13

After sending out last night's message introducing the theme, The Twelve Encounters with Thou, for this year's Inner Christmas Messages, I went to sleep, only to wake a few hours later flooded with scary doubt. My certainty on the theme had fallen into an uncertainty around the choosing of the topics and the flow of the messages. I laid there under the bedcovers in prayerful, seeking thought and with a mood of trust in the spiritual source of my yearly inspiration while hoping I would not let you, my readers, down.
It wasn't long before I sat up turned on the light and wrote down the flow of the messages around the mysteries of encountering Thou and finding I. Let me share: I will bring four messages each for the recognition of the three core purposes behind encounters with Thou:
- four that awaken wholeness in our feeling life;
- four that awaken freedom in our life of thinking releasing identities and defenses; and
- four that bring our deeds and destiny to manifestation through our will.
Tonight we begin with looking at the encounters with Thou that bring us to a greater wholeness, integrity, and coherence in our life of feeling. Often these encounters take us a brief baby step in the direction of wholeness. What a blessing! Sometimes a giant step. But it is the baby steps that add up to a feeling life experienced as I Am.
Encountering the Thou as Womb
Even though there is only one feminine being in the image of the Nativity, the deed of the mother as nurturing and birthing womb is profound in its life-giving presence. Whether we are waking up to our I Am as earthly being or as spiritual reality, we need a womb in which to fully develop and become whole in our I-consciousness.
Actually, we probably need many wombs - Thou's as womb. Each facet of our I finds nurturing containment in the soul of the other. And through this Thou encounter we find the womb within our own soul and the ability to contain and nurture our own inner growth and support our own birth of I.
Though I am writing of the feminine and the maternal, please be aware that the soul is formed with both gender archetypes: masculine and feminine, mother and father, and that spirit is without gender as it is all one. When you recall your Thou as Womb encounters, look for it in both the men and women of your life.
Who has held you and contained you as you developed? Who has modeled this womb gesture in such a way that it now lives in you: you as I in relations to your self and you as Thou in relations to others?
What part of you still needs the inner experience of the womb to birth the feeling of wholeness? Who can provide you with a nurturing encounter? Don't hesitate to seek out this person and let them contain you for the developing or birthing moment.
Now in my sixties, I still find encounters with Thou as womb. Something in me develops or is born that is new and full and surprising. How does this womb presence appear in your encounters?

Reading the messages is not the experience of the Holy Nights. The Holy Nights are a cosmic experience that can only be felt within your own soul. Be confident and seek YOUR Holy Nights.
