Oh, yes, you do find the deep impression of I when your healing gestures become active. Active healing is awake, engaged, energetic, fearless, and accountable. The impression of I restores your soul to the blessed state of "just right" for the moment and the task at hand.
With devoted attention, with an I-mothering of our soul, we recognize our own emotional, moral, and spiritual suffering, imbalance or depletion without shame or guilt. Realize there is no impression of I when we ignore, deny, or avoid our need for active healing. Tonight, with the unconditional maternal support of your I, get in touch the parts of your inner life that need active healing.
Active healing is not about seeking relief from symptoms. Healing begins with shaping a new, more awake relationship to the symptoms. Through the new relationship you can see the cause, even the destiny purpose to your suffering soul. This is such a Holy Nights experience!
The new relationship to the symptoms creates a gateway for the I to permeate your soul with the illuminating, warming forces of forgiveness and health is restored, wholeness blooms. But remember, it may only be for that essential moment for fulfilling your destiny.
We have reached the halfway point of the Holy Nights which is why tonight's message brings deep challenge and great encouragement.
What has helped me heal my soul this year is understanding the unconscious ways we all ignore, deny and avoid the festering roots of our suffering, imbalances, and depletions.
We hide in amnesia - unwilling to know what needs healing. A defense against the unpleasant truth.
We use anesthesia - no conscious feeling of what needs healing. A phobia of the pain of healing and its twin phobia of the joy of living.
We use projection - constantly casting off on to others
and refusing ownership of what needs healing. A phobia of self-agency -
owning our unhealthy thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
The impression of I is experienced when we move into, not away from, the truth, the pain, the accountability of our suffering, imbalances, and depletions.
Suggestions:
The Holy Nights invite us to engage in our yearly check-up and see what unhealthy aspects of our inner life need our healing, I-filled contact.
In general, the Holy Nights are the time for list-making and structure-designing followed by taking new perspectives that are more intimate, more objective, more radical, more orderly, and more tender.
My suggestion is to find the space of the gentle heart that holds the impression of the maternal I and feel your active healing journey begin there. This is the space of the shepherds where like them you can listen to the healing music of the choirs of angels. Like the shepherds you will be inspired to move toward the pure source of love and freedom.
So tonight, make three lists: your lists of when, how, and where in
your thoughts, feelings and actions and behaviors, you experience
...suffering
...imbalance
...depletion
What do the symptoms mean? This is a Holy Nights' question. You will find the answers that come to you bear the imprint of the I.
Wake up from your amnesia.
Feel your pain free of the drama.
Be responsible and accountable for the healing needs of your destiny.
Know your restorative I.
