Integration makes a whole out of parts.

In those rare beautiful moments when we feel whole and all one, we experience the 4th impression of I.

Each of us has so many parts and each part has it's own perspectives, moods, wounds, strengths, weaknesses, memories of the past, and goals for the future. It is the 4th impression of I that guides us into our parts.

The first task of integration is to recognize the parts.

To be recognized each part needs to be given space.

Integration is not forming an identity. There is nothing integral about an identity. Identities tend to exclude or deny other parts. We cannot recognize parts that are jammed and crammed too close together in a catch-all identity, or hidden in closets of self-denial.

Working with images of the Nativity, we can see many parts and players. When we work with each of the parts/players the whole event deepens in meaning.

The second task of integration is to organize the parts.

Organizing gives structure and function to all the parts and thereby the beauty and the harmony of the whole begins to breathe ongoing vitality into the parts.

The Nativity is told as two very different stories: one in the Luke Gospel; another in the Matthew Gospel. Read the Gospels and note the differences and the organizations.

The third task of integration is to value the parts

Once all is recognized and organized the value and necessity of each part becomes quite significant. The space between or the relationships of each part to all the other parts creates a living tableau. When you see the value in the relationships, it is much like a natal chart interpreted by a gifted astrologer.

Each part provides value to all the other parts through the relationships. Once the value is perceived, the wholeness becomes a creative gesture of destiny.

Any attachment to identity distorts the image of destiny. (This is a challenging insight...you must first grasp that you have a destiny that is essential to the whole of humanity. YES, YOU DO!)

Finally, the fourth task of integration is the evolving of the parts into a cohesive, coherent whole.

Like the planet in the solar system and the solar system in the galaxy and the galaxy in the universe, the recognized, organized, valued parts of yourself cohere cohesively and your destiny can be fulfilled.

These integral moments of selfhood are just moments, brief in time, but monumental in purpose, just like the Nativity.

Suggestions:

Do you feel how meaningful, significant, and purposeful you are????

If you are reading this message, it is an indication that you do.

To be aware of the 4th impression of I - through the sense of integration ...
Begin with the parts of you. What are all the roles you play in life, the labels you wear?

Some of my parts...woman, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, teacher, healer, shopper, housekeeper, writer, thinker, wannabe bee-keeper. That's just a start.

In each part I have different feelings, goals, regrets, delights, frustrations and so on.

Just in naming the parts, you can feel the living impression of I found in self-integration, so observant and considerate.

Do you sense the difference this makes in how you contain yourself and how you experience others?

Again, courageously use poetic language to express you experience of the integration of parts.

Your Inner Christmas is yours alone.  Each year we birth ourselves anew during the Holy Nights.  No one else can experience this for us or with  us.  It is my hope that each Inner Christmas message supports your new inner birth.

But what you experience in the glory of your inner solitude, can be shared with others if you carefully and thoughtfully write about it.

Your descriptions, your insights, particularly your questions can be living inspirations for others.  Please leave your comment, knowing it blesses others - not everyone, but someone will be encouraged by your courage.  Your willingness to be vulnerable, transparent and luminous changes the future.  Please leave comments on the blog: http://innerchristmasmessages.com

The Inner Christmas messages are not the inner work of the Holy Nights. They are invitations or gateways into the your inner work. Let them inspire you.

Each message addresses a topic based on the theme of the year. I offer a creative exploration of the topic, and a number of questions to consider around the topic. Let them serve as a way to find your individual relationship to the topic and a new, clarifying, liberating perspective on yourself and the mysteries of being human and becoming I.

The messages are not definitive, they are encouraging.

Reading the messages is not the experience of the Holy Nights. The Holy Nights are a cosmic experience that can only be felt within your own soul. Be confident and seek YOUR Holy Nights.
