Dearest Friends,

The theme for the Inner Christmas Messages 2012 is

The Twelve Impressions of I.

To fully experience this theme and the 2012 Inner Christmas Messages, we must have a shared understanding of two words - impression and I

I am giving you a great deal to consider. The Holy Nights are profound and radical. They are not easy, pretty, or sweet. What I write here is a forewarning...

The messages are about the I that was born in a manger...

Let's begin with I

Most of us think of I as a pronoun - first person singular - and the subject or object of self-consciousness. It is the word we use for self-reference and proof of our existence.

You might say it is the name you call yourself to yourself. It is the word you speak to let yourself and others know, you are active...you are the agent of the act, the feeling, the thought.

It is the name of what you describe when you describe yourself as a physical being (I am a woman. I am 5'10" tall. I have brown eyes.)

...or a biographical being (I have two children. I am writing the Inner Christmas Messages for the ninth year.)

...or a being of alignments and identities (I am an esoteric Christian. I am a writer.)

...or a being of opinion and aesthetics ( I love all colors of the sea. I think Waldorf education provides children with the greatest experience of what being human is all about.),

...or a being of moods, desires, strengths and weaknesses ( I suffer with anxiety. I want to make a contribution to the world and the future. I am a good listener. I have a good singing voice, but I can't sight read music with any confidence.)

Obviously, I has many, many meanings for each of us. You might want to write down a list of some of the ways you use I to mean some part of yourself.

Clearly, the definition each of us has for I is amazingly complex.

Over 7000 individuals receive the Inner Christmas Messages. Each of them defines I differently. According to the Population Research Bureau, over the course of what they believe to be the presence of homo sapiens on the planet, there have been 108 billion individuals/conscious beings who experienced "I am."

So we are talking an astronomical number of definitions of "I."

None of these are the I I am writing about in the Inner Christmas Messages 2012.

The I of the Holy Nights is the I that lives before, behind, and beyond all other, actually limited and limiting experiences of I. The Holy Nights' I is the I that is an expression of the Divine, the unlimited, the eternal, the archetypal, the free, the unconditional. The I that is love, unselfish, pure. It is the I that is inspires moral development, that causes ethical individualism, that becomes, adapts, integrates with elegant grace. It is the root and the fruit of you!

I intend that the 2012 messages will point you to your I, this indescribable divine I.

I will do that by suggesting 12 Impressions of Your I.

Impressions

Clear Imprints
Conscious Marks
Felt Evidence
Unique Characteristics

But most of all, gestures that convince you that you are meaningful, significant, purposeful; that you are loved, important, creative. And so much more.

But also that you must take responsibility, that only you can be accountable to incarnating, embodying this indefinable I in your thoughts, your feelings, your deeds.

Inspiration

I am the writer of the messages. But the messages are inspired by...what? By my highest I? by your angel and your questions? by Sophia, the being of human possibility, by the Christ of the manger and the resurrection?

It really doesn't matter, does it?

What matters is what you experience! ... how you connect with your I during the Holy Nights.

Your I is not your stories, your dramas, your sensations, your anxieties, your bliss, your ideals, your tragedies.

The Work of Inner Christmas

Inner Christmas is WORK. It takes effort.

If you are looking for an inner experience equivalent to hanging an ornament on a tree, eating a delicious desert, or a singing a beautiful carol, please unsubscribe now. You will be disappointed.

If you are willing to be more than you ever thought of being, hang in for the Holy Nights. You will find that the moment you seek the I before, behind and beyond your ordinary experience and impressions of I, the whole spiritual world is at your back, applauding, encouraging, inspiring your next breath, thought, feeling, and deed.

You, especially your deeds beyond your identities, will shape the future for all humankind. You matter!!!

2012 Inner Christmas Messages

I will be working with twelve impressions that will awake in you the I that heals, liberates and empowers the self and the I that lives before, behind and beyond your ordinary self of story, sensation, and egotism. Connecting with this I will provide a sense of self that can evolve, manifest, surrender and create miracles for the future.

Of course, we must define miracle...

miracle |ˈmirikəl|
noun
a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency: the miracle of rising from the grave.

  • a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences: it was a miracle that more people hadn't been killed or injured.
  • an amazing product or achievement, or an outstanding example of something: a machine which was a miracle of design | [ as modifier ] : a miracle drug.
ORIGIN Middle English: via Old French from Latin miraculum 'object of wonder,' from mirari 'to wonder,' from mirus 'wonderful.'

  • Welcome to 2012 Inner Christmas. You are twelve miracles!!!

    In awe and with love,

    Lynn

Your Inner Christmas is yours alone.  Each year we birth ourselves anew during the Holy Nights.  No one else can experience this for us or with  us.  It is my hope that each Inner Christmas message supports your new inner birth.

But what you experience in the glory of your inner solitude, can be shared with others if you carefully and thoughtfully write about it.

Your descriptions, your insights, particularly your questions can be living inspirations for others.  Please leave your comment, knowing it blesses others - not everyone, but someone will be encouraged by your courage.  Your willingness to be vulnerable, transparent and luminous changes the future.  Please leave comments on the blog: http://innerchristmasmessages.com

The Inner Christmas messages are not the inner work of the Holy Nights. They are invitations or gateways into the your inner work. Let them inspire you.

Each message addresses a topic based on the theme of the year. I offer a creative exploration of the topic, and a number of questions to consider around the topic. Let them serve as a way to find your individual relationship to the topic and a new, clarifying, liberating perspective on yourself and the mysteries of being human and becoming I.

The messages are not definitive, they are encouraging.

Reading the messages is not the experience of the Holy Nights. The Holy Nights are a cosmic experience that can only be felt within your own soul. Be confident and seek YOUR Holy Nights.
