  The Ninth Gift ~ Play

How do you give someone play and how do you receive play?

Please do not contemplate how you play. Contemplate the GIFT of play. Yes, you need to grasp with courage and clarity the meaning of play and consider if play can be a gift.

Remember when the veils lift between spiritual consciousness and earthly consciousness we are penetrated with questions, new births of insight and new epiphanies. Everything about the Holy Nights is about the future and about a new I-consciousness. It's a leap into the simmering soup of potential. Can we really be there -- smell and taste, even digest what is cooking up on this most profound and powerful cooker - if we don't seeing it all as play?

Play is usually the absence of seriousness. I want to say it is the absence of conformity, convention and correctness.

As I write this, I am thinking of my grandson who I have been living with for the last six months. He is a master of play. Nothing is more serious than his play and when he asks me to join with him in play, I realize what a gift he is giving me. He is asking me to see something for the first time and to be fascinated and delighted. So fascinated and delighted that I want to repeat it over and over and find as many ways of knowing something as I can.

Play is innocence taking wisdom for a romp, a zip, a sparkle. What else? Wisdom is so playful thanks to innocence love of the surprise and the creative.

Tonight find your innocence and let it take your wisdom on a joy ride. What a gift!

Now take a deep breath and contemplate how your wise self reponds to the playful enthusiasm of your innocence. Is the heavy part of your soul willing to receive a little lightening up from your innocence?

Levity and gravity can be playmates or they can be enemies. Do you see why we must contemplate play in our souls during the Holy Nights?

What happens when wisdom gets playful?

How does an angel respond when you say "Let's play!"? How do you respond when an angel wants you to play?

Are the soul functions of thinking, feeling and willing playmates?? Do they giggle together?

Who are your earthly playmates? Who are your spiritual playmates?

Who do you ask to come and play morally and spiritually? What beings? Don't they all love playing hide-n-seek? Climbing the tree of morality? and rolling around in imaginations, inspirations and intuitions?

Won't you please play with me?
