Our ancient primal self responds to Nature.  Late Autumn is Nature's time of rest and stillness.  Nature grows inward and silent. Our soul's seek this quiet in the days before the Winter Solstice but... we are no longer the sentient beings of ancient realities.  We have become complex and highly conscious beings.

 

Our modern mechanized culture tells us to get busy, surrender to the hectic and unfeeling pace of life and ignore the deep yearnings for quiet.  We jam our life up with so many activities - few with any real meaning.

 

From some perspectives, attending to our inner life is just another thing to do.
