Welcome and Permission to Forget
Published: Fri, 11/27/09
Dear ,
You've just signed up for the Inner Christmas list. Welcome.
I wanted to send you the most recent post to the Inner Year blog and invite you to participate in the Inner Advent teleseminar.
The Inner Year teleseminars take place on Sunday evenings (the basic presentation) and Monday evenings (the intensive conversation). You can learn aboutthe Inner Advent teleseminar below and on my website.
If you have any questions about Inner Christmas, the Inner Year or my counseling work please email me.
I am so glad you have joined this worldwide community.
Warmly, Lynn
Here is the note I sent out last Sunday.
I was planning to write another Inner Advent post, but I read
something that inspired me to write about permission to forget. And in
the middle of writing that post I got another inspiration about
distinguishing spiritual practice from spiritual development.
So if you go to www.theinneryear.blogspot.com
you will find a two-for-one post on giving yourself permission to
forget and the distinction between spiritual practice and spiritual
development. Both thoughts are liberating. Let me know your response.
Now I want to write something about Inner Advent.
The closer Advent comes - it begins this Sunday - the more I
realize how important it is for those of us on a path of spiritual
development. Advent is the time of year when we recognize who we have
become.
All of us are evolving. We are very different from who we were
this time last year. I am not just considering the experiences, events,
conversations, etc that occurred, although it is a lovely and
meaningful activity to review the year's occurrences. I am more
concerned with the evolution and the liberation of your soul. How did
your inner life develop in 2009?
Inner Advent is the time for re-cognizing or re-imagining the year
as thoughts, feelings, intentions and the awakenings to truth, beauty,
goodness, love and freedom that have moved you to a new sense and
strength of self.
Over the four weeks of Inner Advent and the remembering of the
year, a process of purification takes place, a cleaning and ordering of
our soul life so that we arrive at Inner Christmas open, light, free of
any of the "stuff" from the lived year.
I will be leading the participants in the Inner Advent Teleseminar
through this remembering and cleansing process and offer suggestions
for exercises to make the process enlightening and warming in the cold,
dark days of late autumn.

I wanted to give you some links to a website called FascinatingAuthors.com. They have featured me and my book, Celebrate Christmas! and Celebrate You! in three different ways, an audio interview, a written interview and a guest blog post.
The written interview is here. I am asked about the writing process.
The guest blogpost is here. I share about the six ways we celebrate Christmas as an archetype for all human experience that every writer needs to consider.
Here is the audio interview. You can hear me speaking about the book and my work.

A practical question. I am looking for some help in redesigning
the Inner Christmas website. If any of you are saavy with Wordpress, let me know.
