YOUR year, every year is about your mission in life and how you determine and fulfill your next steps on your mission path. Have you begun your new year yet?

The goal of each year is about becoming...becoming a new you while still being YOU.

Do you think the year is just a continuing ticking clock? Just ticking away...the number of the year changes but nothing else. Day in. Day out. What's it all about? Are you just a bundle of habits? Is you path just a hamster wheel?

Will this year end differently...will you be different...more beautiful, more fulfilled, more free, more fulfilled. No tick tock of the clock. No spinning hamster wheel.

For many years I have felt just the tick tock and the deep hidden longing for my mission, although I didn't call it that.

I realized that seeing myself as a mother, friend, mentor, and writer was seeing myself as a "thing"... a noun, a label. All the nouns were hamster wheels of living up to some ideal. None of them were about living my mission.

My mission is not a noun...it is a lifelong deed, a process with an evolving purpose. It is not a desire to be satisfied. My mission is my motive for being me, being Lynn.

What if this year was about being/becoming new? Recognizing your mission and moving forward, taking next steps?

What if this year has a mission...the "why" for waking up every morning?

What if this year you have a vision of what will be different this time next year?

What if this year you know what you will be sending out into the world that only you can send out? This is your "extramission"!

What if this year you know what you need to take in from the world to help you manifest your outer goals and your inner goals? This is your "intromission"

Your mission breathes. It has inhales and exhales. It is life!

The big problem and the best beginning is knowing what your mission is.

What is a mission? It's taken me a long time to ask that question and more time to imagine my response. It is both simple and complex.

My mission was why I incarnated.

Your mission is why you incarnated!

You didn't just happen to incarnate. You chose to incarnate, to leave the spiritual world and enter into an earthly lifetime for a reason. You were conceived and born with a mission living as a light in your soul. You came with a destiny to fulfill and karma to resolve. All human beings, each and everyone, has a mission. Each mission is unique!

How is this year going to move you forward on your mission, take you closer to fulfilling your destiny and lead you to resolving another karmic challenge? This is why we take time in January to imagine a New Year/New You!

In tomorrow's workshop, New Year/New You!, the focus will be on how to recognize your mission. The goal for this entire year might be imagining your mission. That is so powerful!

I don't know many people who are clear about what their mission is.

Sometimes all that is needed is someone asking, "What is your mission? Why were you born?"

Sometimes there are a lot of little missions manifesting in a year. But the little ones are really parts of the jigsaw puzzle that reveals the BIG one! All I can say is living with the big question makes a big difference. It lines up all the bits and pieces of our lives...practically, morally and spiritually.

You can have a plan for the day and a clear sense of your projects and your goals but you need to know your mission to tie it all together. Your mission weaves together all the ups and downs, all the wins and all the losses, all the joy and all the suffering into the meaning and purpose of your life.

You weren't born to be perfect in anyway, to prove anything to yourself or anyone else, to pretend to be anything you are not, or to please anyone who will judge you. You were born to live your mission.

God doesn't need you to be perfect, to prove your value, to please an expectation, or to pretend you are a saint or master. God sees your life, not as a story, but as a mission.

Give yourself and your mission some devotion this weekend.
