MIchael and the Dragon by Flora Barclay-Schloss age 7 (my granddaughter)
Today, September 29, is the Feast Day of Archangel
Michael.
Every Fall, many of us contemplate how to integrate the qualities of this Archangel in our soul life as we live day-to-day, practically, morally, and spiritually. Yes, each of us, as spiritual beings, have a capacity to bring alive in
our souls Michaelic qualities such as courageous sisterhood and brotherhood, inner sovereignty, justice, uprightness, reverence for all, and many other noble attitudes and deeds. Perhaps the most morally and spiritually noble is Michael’s unflinching response to evil as represented in many great works of art and the imagination of children, like my
granddaughter's.
The aura that underlies, surrounds and pervades Michael’s Being is equanimity. Michael never reacts. This great being only responds from an inner stillness, a Holy Calm. And with Holy Calm he tames
all dragons.
How can we find our own individual way to Holy Calm, to our own Michaelic soul?
My Michaelmas gift to you, and please share it with all you know, is the Introduction to Holy Calm in Chaotic Times. In these three videos, I
share, in conversation with Jane Reed, whose questions and responses inspire me, imaginations of equanimity as a pathway to Holy Calm:
Video #1 Chaos, Holy Calm & Equanimity. In 30 minutes, we discuss the fours types of chaos, the path of equanimity and a rich picture of Holy
Calm
.
Video #2 The Four Steps of Perceiving Your Own Dragons of Chaos with Equanimity. Wonder, Observation, Recognition and
Naming.
Video #3 The Four Steps of Understanding Your Own Dragons of Chaos with Equanimity: Systematizing, Categorizing, Evaluating and
Regulating.
I share lots of additional materials with each video.
Each video is around 30 minutes long. You will find so many illuminating insights, imaginations you can apply to all aspects of your life, and lots of warm supportive
encouragement for who you are and who you are becoming. The process of naming and taming the disturbances, dilemmas and dramas of your life…it’s not about suppressing, its about centering and letting go of your reactions to your reactions. You will find your way to a calm response to all that has been overwhelming and confusing.
With conscious equanimity your thinking cannot be seduced; your feelings cannot be abused; and, your will cannot be abandoned. Michael’s Holy Calm is within
you.
Jane shares how the Eight Steps of Equanimity helped her to face the challenges of betrayal in her life. Lynn talks about overcoming her feelings of being powerless, hopeless, helpless and clueless. You’ll learn the importance of finding
the specific location of obstacles to your equanimity.
