Greetings,

Do you feel the surrounding presence of spiritual beings? Do you know their names? Do you recognize their activities and deeds? They wait to be called. They long to be of service. Engage them.

You may pray, contemplate and meditate. Bless you. Yet I experience there is more to fully engaging with the surrounding presence.

One is struck in the study of saints, angels and gods by a pattern that seems quaint and harmless. Yet, it is so common that I know there must be a deeper meaning. There always seem to be guardians and spirits of doors, bridges, exits and entranceways.

Richard Rohr 

Richard Rohr, a beloved Franciscan friar and wonderful writer, bears extraordinary warmth and wisdom. I was delighted to find this quote of his to use as an intro to this blogpost on the surrounding presence of spiritual beings in our daily lives.

Rohr wants us to go beyond the ordinary and seek not just deeper meaning, but deeper connection.

My post is not quaint, and, more than harmless, it will bring a goodness to your consciousness.  It is not about a study of the spirits but about actively engaging with them.

What does it mean to engage? To get involved with these beings intimately, creatively, enthusiastically, joyfully, intelligently with all sorts of beings and spirits?The more we consciously engage the richer our lives become.
