The third “lesson” in the Introduction to Holy Calm in Chaotic Times has posted.

A number of people have commented how helpful, grounding, and freeing the sorting and naming of the four types of chaos was.

“It seems like Reaction Chaos is the only chaos we can actually have power over.  It does seem important to get a handle on that in order to better meet the inevitable Collective, Personal and Micro Chaos that arise. I would love to have more freedom in how my patterns unfold in reactive situations! Thank you for both of your sharing here!”

Another told me in her client session how important it was to hear the imagination of Holy Calm I shared:

• Holy Calm does not depend on an ability to control and does not require vigilance.
• Holy Calm does not call for escape or distancing from reality.
• Holy Calm does not hide or pretend or freeze.
• Holy Calm does not submit, go numb or fall into depression.
• Holy Calm does not collude with or attach to the causes of the chaos and threat.
• Holy Calm does not doubt, hate or fear. 

In the second “lesson” I share the Four Steps of Perceiving. Each step is a deed of Equanimity and centers in the final step of naming.  

In today’s “lesson”, we follow naming the beast (your reaction)  with the taming of the beast through the Four Steps of Understanding.  

These Eight Steps of Equanimity, of perceiving and understanding the chaos of your reactions will lead you to the threshold of Holy Calm.  Take these steps which at first seem arduous and require perseverance, but with practice begin to live in your soul, calm you body, bless your feelings, bring grace to all aspects of your daily life, your work, your relationships, your well being, your inner development.
