Dear Wonderful Soul, It’s a tough question to ask yourself: How self-aware am I? I want to help you, I am devoted to helping you become more self-aware on all levels. O Human Soul, Know Thyself! Imagine Self! Should we begin with thinking about defining awareness. I don’t want to be content with awareness as a synonym for perception. Animals are very aware in their senses, more than we are. But, as human beings, we have a capacity for far more complex awareness, multiple levels of awareness, that goes way beyond the senses of the animal kingdom. Sadly, we also have the freedom to deny or ignore the essential need for levels awareness. Is that wise? As individuals and members of humanity, we each need to to accumulate and mature all kinds of awarenesses. With awareness, we can experience the meaning and purpose in our lives. Every search for every kind of meaning requires awareness. Every transformation begins and
happens through awareness. Think about it! Here are a few awarenesses that awaken the sense of self: - Awareness of the archetypes of being human.
- Awareness of the unique karma and destiny of selfhood.
- Awareness of the shadows, sufferings, and sorrows in your soul
- Awareness of your talents, gifts, and motives.
- Awareness of longings and attachments.
- Awareness of possibilities and consequences.
With growing awareness(es) our experience of selfhood, of I am, deepens and strengthens...and expands. Our calm centered self becomes more constant and resilient. In my 30 + years of researching, teaching, and supporting self-awareness. I have learned so much. It’s humbling and empowering at the same time. - Self-awareness turns suffering into wisdom.
- Self-awareness turns confusion into clarity.
- Self-awareness turns anxiety into confidence.
This summer I am presenting two programs to help you awaken, deepen, and empower your self-awareness. Both of them will help you find
the self-awareness that sources all other awarenesses: the calm center of your selfhood which I also call equanimity.
The Imagine Self Academy online program is The Equanimity Workshop. Six modules, six conversations, and lots of handouts to support you
in finding, sustaining, restoring your “just right” Goldilocks Moments. The first module will be posted on Tuesday, June 20 and our first live, zoom conversation will happen on Saturday, June 24th (St. John's Tide). Registration for The Equanimity Workshop opens this Friday, June 16th. Look for emails over the next few days that illuminate the imagination of Equanimity. You will be surprised.
Meanwhile, you will want to learn about the five-day, in-person retreat, Finding
Your Center in Body, Voice, and Soul which offers the beauty and power of direct guided experiences that will transform your sense of self.
I will be co-guiding this retreat with two gifted, kind, wise teachers and I am so excited. I will be guiding the soul-centering but I
will be learning the body-centering and voice-centering along with you and I can’t wait. I was physically and sexually abused as a child, so I do not have a strong centering in my body. Karen Coe, a brilliant and
compassionate awakener of bodies, will help us re-enliven and center the embodied self. As a singer and speaker, I don’t really know how to trust my voice. Shannon Boyce is an intuitive and inspiring voice
enlivener. She as a gift for listening to what is hiding or what wants to be born in your voice. She will guide each of us into the mysteries of all the elements of singing…even those of us who believe we can’t sing. If you suffer
with uncertainty and self-doubt in standing tall, speaking up, or owning your inner beauty, come spend five days Finding Your Center in Body, Voice, and Soul. Don’t suffer any longer. If you long to have five days of deep self-awareness that heals and
transforms, give your self the gift of this retreat. If you are 30, 50, or 80 years old, let us guide you to the centered intimacy of your own being. And invite someone you love to share this time with you. Finding Your Center happens
