The Technical and Spiritual Art of Prompts - ChatGPT Part 2

Would you like to have a 20-minute complementary consultation with me about manifesting your life's purpose in the realms of contribution, relationship, well-being or inner development?
Working with ChatGPT and all other forms of artificial intelligence available for personal use is an art as much as a science.
But I want to share with you the
art and science of working with Spiritual Intelligence. The ability to find meaning and purpose in both Artificial Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence require creativity, mastery, evaluation, modulation, organization, choice and reflection. Each stage requires questions and doubts. We must not demonize or dismiss without understanding. And remember, there is no wisdom, freedom, or love without the abyss.
Ultimately, you want to develop a capacity to fine-tune our technical prompts and our spiritual prompts based on your experience of self. What do you want from the world of technology? What do you want from the world of spirit?
What is the root definition of prompt? Middle English (as a verb): based on Old French prompt or Latin promptus ‘brought to light’, also ‘prepared, ready’, past participle of promere ‘to produce’, from pro- ‘out, forth’ + emere ‘take’.
What is engineering? Artful and skillful designing or modifying so that the results are elegant, efficient, and effective.
We need to begin with clearly articulating the desired results. We must be detailed, not vague.
Vague desires lead to vague and unsatisfying results on all levels.
Detailed desires are going to ultimately result in fulfillment. And as we refine our details we are also refining our desires and our self-knowledge. This is true in both material desires and spiritual desires. Whether we are using machines and technology to fulfill our material desires or using prayers and meditations to fulfill our spiritual desires.
(There are some great articles on engineering prompts for AI, just use google to search on “prompt engineering”.)
I am going to look at the need for detailed desires in our spiritual development.
In writing these thoughts on AI and prompt engineering, I realize that I am way too vague in my prompts. Vague is boring. Vague is draining. Vague lacks meaning and purpose. I don’t want to be comprehensive. I want to be specific. And I want to be fluid. I want to be imaginative. I want to be inspired. I want to be surprised. We need to
understand that the higher cognitions of Imagination, Inspiration, and Intuition are not vague…they are specific and detailed while finding a deeper expression of fluidity and surprise. One of the results of engineering prompts is the growing confidence of self. You become wiser and freer. I recently read an essay https://tylerxhobbs.com/fidenza by one of the most respected, successful, and creative generative artists, Tyler Hobbes. He begins the essay with these words:
Here is a definition of generative art. What is Generative Art? Generative Art is a process of algorithmically generating new ideas, forms, shapes, colors or patterns. First, you create rules that provide boundaries for the creation process. Then a computer follows those rules to produce new works on your behalf.
If you think Ahriman is overtaking art, how do you think a 14th Century Florentine thought about perspective. Be open. Read Tyler Hobbes essay.
And think about this…Creation is algorithmic. Archetypes are algorithms! Tree is an algorithm. Oak tree, cherry tree, cypress tree all came about through prompts and flexibility living through the archetype of tree.
What about me that is human — what I share with all other humans, like having a liver and two feet with ten toes, or the ability to think are results of the algorithms coded by the gods. What about my humanity is uniquely mine, uniquely Lynn, is the consequence of working with my angel in setting up specific variations of the algorithms that have enough flexibility to allow for transformation, metamorphosis, and surprise. I continue to work with my angel and the gods by communicating through prayer and meditation all the specific prompts that unfold as I live each day and each lifetime.
Most of my readers have intellectual or spiritual teachers, heroes, healers. If you study each and look at how they have developed their knowledge, you will see they give us algorithms and invite us to engineer prompts to manifest them as uniquely our own. Buddha offers us the Eightfold Path. Jesus Christ offers us the Nine Beatitudes. Rudolf Steiner offers us the Fourfold Human Being and the Threefold Soul. Hegel offers us thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Nietzsche offers us “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger”.
But with all wise prompts we must play, refine, and engineer to our specific desires. We must make them our own.
Even the most beautiful of prayers can be vague. “Give us this Day our Daily Bread.” Our Father wants to know the details of what our Daily Bread is. It’s different for each of us. Our angel doesn’t pay attention to what is vaguely desired, but to what is specifically desired.
The gods gave us technology so that we could surprise them. All our teachers want us to surprise them with infinite variations. Don’t obey, surprise!
Hard to grasp! Yes. But do you feel the spiritual meaning and purpose of making the universal, specific?
From the Sermon on the Mount, Christ spoke the universal words of the Lord's Prayer. But today, we need to make it "My Prayer." What is your daily bread
today? What do you think it will be tomorrow? It's a Michaelic question for our times and our own inner development. This coming Sunday in the O Human Soul, Know Thyself webinar I will be guiding you in the art and science of creating specific personal prompts for prayers and meditations. Join me.

We are each born to continually find, know, and become I and to strive to fully possess the I of this lifetime. I incarnated into a lifetime named Lynn, full of karma and drama. My main destiny was to become more fully I using the lens of being Lynn. Only I can see through this lens. Only you can see through your lens. The trick is to know what to look at through your lens. What part of you do you need to focus on now? That’s the work of the Imagine Self Academy.
The Imagine Self Academy offers programs to awaken you to your Selfhood in the contexts of anthroposophy and theosophy. The Academy provides maps for finding your I, mirrors for knowing your I, and methods for becoming your I. The maps show your paths, The mirrors reveal your structures. The methods guide your adventures.
All Imagine Self Academy programs include live zoom calls where we can engage in creative and inspiring conversations. The I of Self engages with the We of Community and we experience the grace of what is possible when two or more are gathering in the Name. All zoom calls are recorded so if the time doesn't work out for your live participation you can listen to the recording or read the transcripts. Payment plans, discounts, and scholarships are always available. Email me. And if you want some guidance or have some questions, please book a complimentary 20-minute call with me.
