Hi Dear Wonderful Soul,
I hope your April and the mood of Eastertide has been full of new blooms of selfhood. Take a moment right now and reflect on how the last couple of weeks have offered you new imaginations of who you are becoming. My work, my devotion nurtures your self-unfolding, guides you to letting go and taking baby steps or giant leaps toward all you are seeking within your soul and in your world. You are unique and special and you truly matter now and
forever.
Tomorrow I am flying to Ann Arbor, Michigan to spend a week in a place I have never visited. I'll be staying with a good friend who has arranged for me to give a talk at the
Rudolf Steiner House on Friday night and a workshop on Saturday morning. I'll be sharing my recent research on the mystery of the four deeds of incarnation. My plan is to offer this as a webinar in the near future.
Because of my trip to Ann Arbor, I have postponed my next "O Human Soul, Know Thyself" free webinar to Sunday, May 7th at 2PM. Inspired by Mother's Day, I will present the four great maternal gestures and the need we each have for an Inner Mother. In June, I will share the paternal gestures.
Self-Parenting Part One:
Meeting the Needs of Your Inner
Reality
Sunday, May 7th 2PM Eastern
Live on Zoom
Our karma and our destiny shaped the parenting we received that left us with unmet needs. This often causes
trauma, grief, rage, and chronic challenges in our sense of self. But parenting that fails to meet our needs is often the parenting that evolves into the gift of motivating self-knowledge and self-imagining. Somehow we move beyond the self as a happily-ever-after fantasy to a self as evolving individuality.
There is no perfect parenting in the sense of the ideal. When we contemplate the parenting we received that left our needs unmet from a place of equanimity, we come to see how each unmet need provided the possibility of wisdom that can only emerge through suffering our unmet needs.
Wisdom reveals the self-compassionate deeds of self-parenting and suggests the awakening of an inner mother and inner father.
The next two O Human Soul, Know Thyself
webinars (Sunday, May 7th and Sunday, June 5th) will offer deep dives into the archetypal parenting gestures. Four core needs and the four parenting gestures that live in the development of our inner and outer realities connect to the four bodies: physical, etheric, astral, and spirit . The maternal gestures meet the needs found in the four incarnation senses of touch, well-being, movement, and balance The four paternal gestures connect to the four world senses of smell, taste,
vision, and warmth.
I have been researching the karma of parenting for over 10 years and living with the karma of my childhood and the karma of parenting my own children which has made my research painfully intimate and also, exquisitely awakening, healing, and
empowering.
