Hi Dear Friend,

If you are still wondering if Beyond 63 is for you at this time…read on.

This morning I was reading some of Rilke’s thoughts and two I found were inspiring for the inner work and the deep contemplative questions of Beyond 63. 

“Behold Yourself Anew!”

&

“Be inspired by the flame where everything shines as it disappears.”

“Behold Yourself Anew” encourages with the same fierce force of imagination as Goethe’s “Die and Become!” Nobody can do this for you but suggestions and guidance can be offered.

In the seven modules of Beyond 63, we will be working with four tasks for right aging and blessed dying which rely on sacred contemplation. We must, as Rilke wrote “Be inspired by the flame where everything shines as it disappears. “ Awakening to Elderhood & Thanatosophia allows us to shine on all that gives our disappearing earthly lives everlasting meaning.

And with the same inner flame we must ignite new imaginations of the other side of the Threshold of Death and see what light and warmth we can send forth to illuminate the next lifetime.

If you are over 63, I so want you to be part of the Beyond 63 community. But maybe you are hesitating. Maybe you feel there are good reasons for not participating. 

 Reasons for not enrolling in Beyond 63:

Money: I can’t afford it or I don’t value this kind of work.

Timing: I live in another part of the world or I am still working and the time of the Zoom calls doesn’t work.

You’ll do it next time. Postponing is so seductive. Now is the time!

Already doing a lot of study groups and trainings. This is not a study or a training, it is a program of inspiring guidance and loving support.

Resistance to the challenge of deep personal inner work beyond reading, meditating, listening to lectures, and other spiritual practices.

Conflict with the times of the live zoom calls. All will be recorded and available for replay and download. Beyond 63 is a design for your inner work. This does not require you to be on the live calls, but that you work with the suggested activities and contemplations. Do you have the time to work on your own? My first 21 years were filled with body-and-soul-destroying trauma, anxiety and loneliness. My next 21 years were about writing a new story based on appearances, pretenses and desperately seeking happy endings. I had a very romantic marriage, had two wonderful kids, got into therapy, went to Al-Anon, did the est training, read lots of books.

My traumas were running and ruining my sense of life, but, ironically, also inspiring my life in wonderful ways, ways I wouldn’t have chosen if it weren’t for the traumas. But I still felt crazy, weird, despondent and alone most of the time. I was searching for a way to make sense of all the chaos and complexity of being me. Life ws full of peaks and valleys. I wanted material beauty and spiritual certainty, but I was also unwilling to conform to outer unforgiving dogmas.  I wanted a living process, not a belief system nor a spiritual study…I wanted to live with freedom, love and ever surprising wisdom.

Then right around my second moon node (when the moon returns to exactly where it was at the time of my birth for the second time around 37.5 years) I put my kids in a Waldorf school and met Rudolf Steiner. Because Waldorf so clearly and beautifully understood childhood, I paid attention to its founder’s wisdom…Steiner did offer a religion. He offered a philosophy of freedom and the wisdom of being human reavealing the deep earthly needs and spiritual mysteries of Selfhood, a living evolution of consciousness.

This wisdom set me free from my imprisoning stories and the hidden bedlam of my sense of self. I found a way to know myself that was healing, liberating, and empowering. I experienced new illuminations of truth that opened up practical, moral, and spiritual strength and inner confidence. It gave me a clear and clarifying set of lenses to bring meaning and purpose into focus. I learned how to wonder, contemplate, and recognize.

By my mid-forties, I knew that I was to deepen and share the ways to know the truth of one’s self. I began offering courses, giving lectures, counseling others, and writing a blog offering the maps, mirrors and methods of Selfhood. I wanted to inspire others to peel away the layers of fear and resistance to knowing oneself. 

I've been doing, developing, and living this work for 30 years now.
